Port Olímpic: Barcelona’s best seafood restaurants for fresh fish dishes

Spain is the second biggest consumer of fish and seafood in the world, after Japan. In every region of the country, especially those that are seaside, there are fish and seafood dishes available in almost every bar and restaurant. The Spanish sea gastronomy is very rich and diverse, from expensive dishes to tasty snacks. There are fish casseroles, enormous seafood combos called “mariscadas” and all kind of preserved fish and seafood, such as anchovies, sardines and cockles.

If you love fish and seafood as much as we do, we invite you to visit some of the most notorious restaurants in the Catalan capital; Barcelona’s best seafood restaurants where you can get fresh fish every day of the week. Some of them are located near the sea, so you not only get to enjoy the taste, but also the gorgeous views of areas like the Barcelona Olympic Harbour.

A nice view gets even more attractive with the delicious taste of fried shrimps in your mouth. So, if you don’t want to miss this experience, check the list below with the best seafood restaurants in the Port Olimpic of Barcelona, and start to salivate.

Where to eat seafood in Barcelona?

1. Maná 75º

Where is it? Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 101
mana75.es

The senses play an important role when it comes to enjoying the Port of Barcelona, and Maná 75º is the perfect to spot to do it so. With premises full of big rooms, large windows and with a unique decoration, Maná 75º is an ideal place to enjoy a seafood dish while staring at the Mediterranean Sea. The restaurant is famous for their fish rice and paellas, without forgetting the fideuas (a dish like the paella but with noodles instead of rice).

2. La Barca del Salamanca

Where is it? Moll de Gregal, 17
labarcadelsalamanca.com

You wouldn’t leave Barcelona without visiting the Sagrada Familia or Parc Güell, right? Well, you cannot leave it without eating at La Barca del Salamanca. Their menu is composed by traditional Spanish cuisine, from the well-known tapas to delicious desserts. La Barca de Salamanca is famous for its Guijuelo sausages, their Mediterranean dishes and the wood coating that makes the restaurant look like the interior of a ship. You have all the information in its complete web page, which allows you to book online and solve any doubts with its customer service section.

3. La Taberna Gallega

Where is it? Moll de Gregal, 24
www.latabernagallega.com

Galicia is a region of Spain located in the north of the country. It’s famous in the whole world for nurturing the best fish in their coasts and the best seafood in their marshlands. Anywhere you go, if you bump into a Galician restaurant, we recommend you try it, like Barcelona’s La Taberna Gallega. With a tavern lounge with capacity for 60 guests, a terrace for 52 and a terrace lounge for more than 250 guests, we are sure that you will find the perfect spot for you. Rice, seafood, octopus and turbot stand out in their menu, plus their high-quality steaks and their galician wines such as the Albariño and the Verdejo.

4. AGUA

Where is it? Passeig Marítim, 30
grupotragaluz.com/en/restaurant/agua

The name of this seafood restaurant in Barcelona means water, but that doesn’t mean you have to order it for drinking. AGUA is located in the Barcelona seafront, where the monkfish, hake and stew are the main protagonists. They allegedly brought back the Barceloneta spirit, meaning that they offer the type of menu and the atmosphere from what the neighborhood used to be in the 80-90´s, before the arrival of the tourism wave. They offer a diverse menu, a young spirit decoration and a fast service with very friendly staff. If you are a beach-person more than a port-person, go get some AGUA!

5. La Fonda del Port Olímpic

Where is it? Moll de Gregal, 7-10
lafondadelport.com

La Fonda del Port Olimpic is very well-known seafood restaurant in Barcelona because it does what is colloquially called “la compra” (the purchase). La compra means that the restaurant managers buy everyday the freshest products of the market and that’s what they offer on the menu. It doesn’t depend on prices, menus or any other reason but what´s fresh. That’s why every time you go to La Fonda is an adventure. The product offered is divided into fish and seafood of the day, premium meats made on the grill and an economic daily menu for 13 euros.

6. El Cangrejo Loco

Where is it? Moll de Gregal, 29 – 30
www.elcangrejoloco.com

The Cangrejo Loco (The Crazy Crab) is the perfect place to enjoy with all your friends. The kitchen is prepared to cook individual menus, “My way” menus for up to 12 people or menus for events and special meals for more than 12 people. In addition, you can also enjoy maximum discretion in their private rooms or eating on their terraces while staring at the Mediterranean Sea. They are famous for their Suquet de rape (Monkfish Suquet), fish rices and wines. Plus, the walls are covered by cool vintage pictures of the 1992 Olympic games.

7. Arenal

Where is it? Passeig Marítim La Barceloneta, s/n
www.arenalrestaurant.com

High cuisine, fresh product, great service and sea views. That’s what Arenal restaurant has to offer to all the seafood lovers out there. Their dishes of rice and fish are very popular, and they get a lot of business thanks to their capacity to organize social events and weddings. They have several choices for their menus, one daily and one executive, so you can make the best choice for the time of the day. Our recommendation is to enjoy its terrace and order some of their fish grills, the cod or the rice.

8. Touché

Where is it? Carrer de la Marina, 19 Local 1 D
www.touchebcn.com

Touché is one of the quirkiest options of this list, that’s why it’s coming in the last place. Located in the Carrer de la Marina, it´s menu combines seafood, fish and other product in an original and avant-garde cuisine, a little far from the classic fish restaurants. Honorary mention for their cocktails, prepared by the mixologist Marc López, and with an acid touch of fruits and citrus. A terrific ending for a fresh fish or seafood meal!

Enjoy your seafood!
We hope you like our selection with Barcelona’s best seafood restaurants around the Port Olímpic.
If you are visiting Barcelona, you will enjoy these places. They usually have a daily menu, but you can also choose other dishes from the carte. Don’t think it so much and try one of them. You won’t regret it!

Best Kosher Food Restaurants in Barcelona

The Catalan capital has a local but relatively small Jewish community, with estimates placing the figure at between 5,000 and 15,000. This small number means that it can, unfortunately, be difficult for visitors to find great kosher food in Barcelona.

But it is out there! In this post, we are going to share the top 5 kosher food restaurants in Barcelona to help you get some delicious food while you are in the sunny city.

Where to find kosher food in Barcelona?

1. Delicias Kosher

Where is it? Carrer d’Avinyó 8, 08002 Barcelona

Owned by a Jewish family, this restaurant offers traditional kosher food that has an exciting Mediterranean twist. You will be able to enjoy a huge range of kosher wines, and rest assured while dining on traditional entrees and grilled meats that everything is served under the Kashrut certificate that is issued by the Chief Rabbi of Barcelona.

The kosher restaurant in the Gothic district is often praised for its fantastic customer service and a team that is willing to go above and beyond. This means that whether you’re looking for amazing kosher food in Barcelona or answers to a special request, the hosts will go out of their way to give you the help that you need.

2. Maccabi Restaurant

Where is it? Carrer del Bruc 49, 08009 Barcelona
Phone Number: 00 34 933 17 95 45

Again, everything served in this restaurant is done so under a Kashrut certificate. The building has a very unique history, originally serving as a bread oven in the seventeenth century. Now, the restaurant is a bustling building which offers a wide range of traditional kosher dishes to diners. On the Shabbat, you can also enjoy take away service from the restaurant.

3. Kosher Shaq Shuq Israeli

Where is it? Carrer de Ferran 15, 08002 Barcelona
Phone Number: 00 34 933 18 96 93

This kosher restaurant in Barcelona offers remarkable service and it is located right in the center of the city, just off Las Ramblas. Fresh Mediterranean flavors are on offer at Kosher Shaq Shuq Israeli, and for really reasonable prices.
4. Taim Kosher

Where is it? Carrer Cuitat de Granada 44, 08005 Barcelona
Again, you will find that the dishes have a Mediterranean twist to them and this can help you to explore more local flavors throughout your trip. Of course, the take-away service means that you have the perfect option for Shabbat.

5. Maoz

Where is it? Carrer de Ferran 13, 08002 Barcelona
Phone Number: 00 34 678 60 49 46

This take-away restaurant is adored by vegans and the Jewish community alike. Part of an Israeli chain, you can rest assured that all of the products there are kosher. The prices are fantastic and the amazing falafel is even better!

There is a self-serve salad and toppings bar too, and we are confident that if you’re looking for a quick bit you’ll fall in love with this place.

Where to buy kosher food in Barcelona for your own creations?

While the choice of kosher restaurants in Barcelona may seem a little underwhelming, you also have the option to of course purchase kosher products in the Catalan capital. Here’s a closer look at some of the places you can do this to create your own flavors and favorite dishes.

1. Isamar Kosher

Where is it? Carrer de l’Avenir 29, 08021 Barcelona

This supermarket also has a wonderful deli available, and you can sample some amazing food there while also enjoying the products from the bakery throughout the day. There is a huge range of kosher products on offer here but given that this is one of the only kosher butchers in the city, the prices can get a little crazy!

With that said, this isn’t a bad option if you are looking for a place to purchase trusted kosher supplies that you can then use at home.

2. BenBen Kosher

Where is it? Carrer Aribau 257, 08021 Barcelona

BenBen Kosher is another butcher and supermarket rolled into one, offering a huge range of kosher products from around the world. You can enjoy the opportunity to meet others at the bar/café, or take some delicious food to go with the ingredients that you purchase.

The store has a large stock, and you’ll be sure to find everything that you need from one day to the next and even for special occasions.

Have you ever heard about a typical Spanish breakfast? What is a typical Spanish breakfast and what food do they eat in Spain for breakfast? Discover what is this and how it works and what Spanish people put in their coffee when enjoying breakfast. The rest of the world can permit themselves a lazy breakfast on the weekend. In Spain the daily breakfast is sacred. All of us who travel a lot perfectly know what means the concept of “English breakfast” or “Continental breakfast”. When you travel to Spain, you should know that breakfast is almost the most important meal of the day and it is quite elaborate. So do not be surprised when passing by a typical Spanish bar in the morning you will see people drinking their morning coffee with a tostada, pan con tomato (tomato bread), tortilla (omelette) or “bocadillo” (sandwich).

Actually, it’s difficult to define what a typical Spanish breakfast is, because of multiple regions with very different habits.

In every corner of this amazing country, you won’t be missing a cup of coffee. But, you should know, if you come from one of those countries where people drink 0,4l of coffee, you’ll be surprised. Spanish people used to drink only the third part of yours. After tasting it for the first time, you should admit Spanish coffee has much more caffeine.

The essentials of a Spanish Breakfast in Barcelona

When seeing a Spanish breakfast, mostly enjoyed in the early mornings in bars, and small stalls around the cities and villages, it doesn’t look that spectacular on first but it can contain the following ingredients:

coffee in different variations

orange juice

small sandwiches in baguettes with iberic ham

toasts with jam/marmalade (sweet)

toasts with tomato (salty)

toasts with ham and cheese

potato omlett

How to ask for a cup of coffee the Spanish way?

Simply:

“Café con leche” = coffee with milk

“Café solo” = black coffee (short)

“Café Espresso”= Espresso

“Cortado”= Espresso with milk

“Café Doble Espresso” = double espresso

“Café Descafeinado” = Without coffein

Or if you want:

Café con leche y tortilla = coffee with milk and a piece of tortilla

How to order a coffee with milk, an orange juice and a Iberic ham sandwich

English: “Hi, can I please have a coffee with milk, an orange juice and a ham sandwich. Thanks.”
Spanish: “Hola, un café con leche, un zumo de naranja y un bocadillo de jamon iberico, por favor. Gracias.”

Together with sandwiches and omelet, different kind of sweet bun can accompany your morning “café con leche”. The most famous are churros! No doubt, you have already heard about this delicious Spanish tradition. Yes, the famous Churros con chocolate!

How would you order churros con chocolate?
Spanish: “Hola, una ración de churros con chocolate, por favor. Gracias.”

Barcelona has some typical places where to try churros is a “must do”, for example, Granja Dulcinea or Granja Viader, both situated close Las Ramblas.

Actually passing by any of the huge amounts of bars in Barcelona don’t be afraid to enter and ask for one of the typical Spanish breakfast we’ve talked about. Also, don’t be shy, ask in Spanish, surely an old owner of this bar will be thankful for that 😉

The Rambla del Poblenou in Barcelona

The Rambla del Poblenou in Barcelona is a space that came to decongest a neighborhood with a marked industrial character. It was originally called Paseo del Triunfo although it was popularly known as Rambla del Poblenou; the official name changed in 1986.

The closure of many industries in this Barcelona neighborhood meant that this area had more and more leisure, culture and commercial activity, so this avenue became the central axis of this area of the Catalan city.

Today we want to tell you something about its history and show you what to see in the Rambla del Poblenou. We propose you a walk along this street that connects the sea and the mountain.

A bit of history: the origins of the Rambla del Poblenou

The Rambla del Poblenou is one kilometer long and runs from the Gran Vía de Les Corts Catalanes to near Bogatell beach, becoming one of the longest boulevards in Barcelona.

We moved to 1853 to know about its origins. This avenue was projected within the Cerdà plan and was baptized as Paseo del Triunfo by the municipal architect Antoni Trias.

Even then, it was an essential part of the homonymous neighborhood, Poblenou, very industrialized and that began to expand in the district of Sant Martí, transforming its personality at the same time, since little by little, more and more shops and restaurants were emerging.

For the neighbors, it became a place to walk and talk, something that still happens today, apart from the commercial and gastronomic offer you can find in this Rambla.

Image source: La Rambla: A place to walk and talk

Although over the years this street has undergone transformations that have modernized it, something that makes it special is precisely the fact that it has managed to maintain part of that neighborhood charm.

What to see in the Rambla del Poblenou

Shops, bars, modernist buildings of great beauty or monuments. Find here everything you can see during your walk on the Rambla del Poblenou.

Casino l’Aliança del Poblenou

Popularly known as L’Aliança, this casino was founded in the year 1869, although it is located at number 42 of the Rambla del Poblenou since 1929. It is a recreational center that became the seat of the social and cultural life of this Barcelona neighborhood since the late nineteenth century. Concerts and cultural events of all kinds take place in there.

Sculptures

During this visit, you will see several sculptures.

Sculpture to Doctor Josep Trueta: it is located at the beginning of the Rambla, next to Pere IV street and it is the work of Josep Ricart i Maimir.

Sculpture of L’adolescent. Al cant popular (The teenager. To the popular song), work that dates from 1960 and created by Martí Llauradó i Mariscot.

Monument to Pere Relats, by Josep Ricart Maymir. Opened in 1979, it is a tribute to this priest who worked in favor of the neighborhood and who died in an accident in the mountains. The stone used to build the sculpture was brought from the place where the tragedy occurred.

Other points of interest in the Rambla del Poblenou

Modernist buildings are also part of the urban landscape of this Rambla. The houses you will find if you walk between the Rambla de Poblenou 102 and Pallars Street 222, designed by the architect Jaume Bayó i Font, are a good example of this movement.

The most popular restaurants on the Rambla del Poblenou

Image source: Terraces, bars and restaurants in the neighborhood

Full English Breakfast in Barcelona: the best places

Globalization allows cultures to communicate and influence each other. Thanks to the free circulation of people, ideas and goods we enrichen ourselves by adopting some of the traditions of foreign countries. Food is a great example of this. In the city of Barcelona we find options for all tastes and from all nationalities: Lebanese cuisine, Arabic, Japanese, Italian, English, and so on. English has a special spot in that list since Spain and Great Britain have a very close relationship.

Thousands of brits come to Spain on holidays every year, attracted by the sun, the beach and the culture. For this reason, there are many traditional English style pubs, bars and restaurants in Barcelona where you can enjoy typical dishes such as the Full English Breakfast, one of their greatest invents.

The English breakfast is a substantial breakfast that is usually accompanied by a cup of tea – also very common among English people – and that carries sausages, baked beans, eggs and bacon. These are the basic ingredients but you can add fried tomatoes, mushrooms, blood sausages, cereals, porridge (typical English dish with oatmeal and milk), fried bread and/or toast. Depending on the region you are in, the ingredients vary.

This dish comes from the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as cultures with British influences, such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. However, its scope is such that it has spread throughout the world.

Enjoy the Japanese cuisine in the Catalan capital

The borders of the world blur and change constantly. Due to globalization, there is no need to travel to Italy to eat a good pizza or to Greece to eat an authentic moussaka. Today we can taste dishes from other countries and exotic delicacies in our own city.

Among the different gastronomic cultures of the world, the Japanese cuisine is one of the most spread, especially in large cities such as Madrid, Berlin or New York. Their cuisine is internationally known and critically acclaimed by both food critics and regular people. The interest for the culture and the oriental gastronomy is growing day by day and its presence is so extended that the sushi has become not only an appreciated Japanese specialty but a popular choice for delivery or fast food.

But, where does sushi come from? Sushi is a word of Japanese origin, the result of the union between two words: vinegar and shi-meshi (rice). Sushi could literally be translated as “vinegary rice”. It’s funny, though, that the sushi it’s not originally a Japanese recipe, since it was born in China as a fish conservation technique, like smoking it or the conservation in salt. The rice and fish were cooked and left to ferment and, after a certain amount of time, the fish was consumed alone. Still far away from the sushi we eat today.

Because of the Chinese immigration, this method of conservation was spread through different countries, Japan among them. Plus, some changes in Japan political and administrative organization, affected the supply of rice, making it the number one preservative in the country. In the mid-seventeenth century, Dr. Matsumoto Yoshiichi decided to add vinegar to rice for conservation. A few years later, people began to roll up the ingredients for their consumption. However, the famous cook Yohei Hanaya was the first to use raw fish at the end of the 18th century, since until that time they used cooked, marinated or roasted fish. The first sushi rolls were born. After the Second World War, in the middle of the 20th century, the first sushi joints appeared, in the form of restaurants and mobile kiosks. Since then and to this day, the openings of sushi-based restaurants and Japanese food have not stopped.

The Catalan capital is a city full of international culinary choices, especially in downtown areas. There are hundreds of sushi restaurants in Barcelona: some of them are buffets, others are Chinese restaurants trying to pass as Japanese and others, the few, are real Japanese restaurants. It’s very hard to spot or distinguish them from the fake ones. Usually you can get a big clue by checking up their menu; if they offer a mix of Asian food, it probably won’t be a real Japanese restaurant.

Since we want to help you find the best sushi in town, here you have our recommendations!

Top sushi restaurants in Barcelona

1. KIBUKA

Where is it? Carrer Goya, 9
www.kibuka.com

The Japanese restaurant Kibuka is the project of 3 Catalans who decided to fulfill the dream of opening a sushi restaurant in Barcelona. Kibuka has two sushi restaurants in Barcelona, just in the Gràcia district: the best known is in the upper part of Verdi street, and the second is in Goya street, very close to the Plaça de la Vila. Both restaurants offer a menu of oriental dishes with a very good quality and price ratio. Both restaurants stand out for having open kitchens where the chefs cut your sushi in the spot. In addition, they also have an extensive variety of makis, noodles and other Japanese specialties. But Kibuka is not a conventional Japanese restaurant, and you can feel it and taste it in their food, which has Latin and Asian influence.

2. NOMO

Where is it? C/ Gran de Gracia, 13
www.gruponomo.com/restaurantes/nomo

Nomo is more than a restaurant: it’s a Mediterranean-feeling Asian-cuisine tavern. It was born in 2007 because of the work of two Catalonian brothers who joined forces with the Japanese chef Naoyuki Haginoya. They decided to open a Japanese restaurant with a very exclusive concept: Asian gastronomy and Japanese culture but deeply rooted in Catalan tradition. It quickly became a huge success, so they opened three more restaurants, one of them for take-away. Nowadays, thanks to its key location in the center of the city, its quality ingredients and their original cooking techniques, NOMO has become one of the most popular sushi joints in Barcelona.

3. MACHIROKU

Where is it? Carrer Moles 21
www.facebook.com/pages/Machiroku/

Machiroku is a small and modest sushi restaurant in Barcelona that has been running for more than seven years. If you are looking for a place to taste quality sushi at a good price, Machiroku is the place for you. Although sushi is the main star of the menu, in Machiroku they also offer other highly recommended dishes such as yakisoba noodles, ramen or popular gyozas. In addition, all the products are homemade, fresh and delicious. If you want to try for the first time the sushi, or you don’t have a lot of experience in this type of cuisine, Machiroku would be a great beginning. The Machiroku staff is very nice and helpful, and they will guide you through this gastronomic trip. We also recommend you their daily menus.

4. PARCO

Where is it? Passeig de Gràcia, 119
www.facebook.com/pages/Parco

This restaurant has a great reputation in Barcelona. The menu offers sushi, sashimi and other premium Japanese dishes in a dreamlike environment that stands out for its aesthetics and its warm and intimate atmosphere. The low light, poufs and wooden tables at ground level are another hallmark of the restaurant that will make you feel like you were in Japan. In addition, it also has an attractive offer of cosmopolitan cocktails and drinks. Our recommendation for this restaurant would be ordering the degustation menu because it includes all types of sushi: Makis, Uramakis, Temakis, Nigiris and more.

5 little restaurants in Barcelona you shouldn’t miss

If there is something that brings all people together, it’s food, and no one does it like Barcelona. The city certainly has no shortage of great places to eat, and while you might be tempted to eat at La Boqueria or El Nacional, two of Barcelona’s favorites, we want to encourage you to try something a little different. There’s nothing you won’t find in Barcelona, from gourmet tapas, to Japanese and Mediterranean fusion food. We’ve listed below some of our favorite dining experiences, so as the Spanish say… buen provecho!

Dans le Noir

Dans le Noir is French for ‘in the dark’, and that’s literally its concept. It is a journey for the senses and the mind. Hosted and served by people who are visually impaired, you will be immersed in a unique experience where you will have to put your other senses to the test. It can be a little intimidating at first, but it is a great way to bond with loved ones and strangers alike, as you will have to place your trust in them. Just remember… just because you won’t be able to see anyone else, doesn’t mean none of the hosts and waiters can’t, so be careful before do something you might not want anyone else to see 🙂

The Box

You never know what to expect from a place that has large jars of conspicuously labeled rum on the walls. On the edge of the Gothic Quarter, you will find The Box, a French – Colombian bar, with a caribbean flare. They also claim to serve the best hot dog in Barcelona, which of course we took as a challenge to try it, and we were not disappointed. The creole hot dog was everything they said it was, it even came with instructions from the friendly bartender. You might think that you don’t need a guide on how to eat a hot dog, but trust us, you haven’t had one like this before. Getting back to the large jars of flavor-infused rum, you can’t leave this place without trying their organic homemade rum. You have a whole wall of flavours to choose from, and the best part is, there is no wrong choice. We never thought hot dogs and rum would go together, but it is a match made in fast food heaven.

ElDiset

Refined and chic, ElDiset looks like one of those fabulous restaurant that only the really cool people know. But you don’t need to be a celebrity to eat here, and even better, you don’t need to have their budget either. With a rustic modern interior, wine bottles that line the walls, and a cozy atmosphere, this vinoteca has become a favourite in the neighborhood of El Born. This is one of the best places to try Catalan cuisine, and of course, Catalan wine. Their appetizers are enough to satisfy any craving, and their detailed presentation makes it even more delightful. Go ahead and treat yourself to an evening of sophistication.

A tu Bola

In the past few years we have seen street food be transformed from late night snacks from dodgy food trucks, to 30€ kobe burgers made by world renowned chefs. A tu Bola serves the best of both worlds, gourmet flavor at street food prices. The food is served in the shape of a ‘bola’ or ball, in what can be seen as small presentations, however, don’t think you’ll be leaving the place hungry, we promise you’ll leave full and satisfied. With a small open kitchen restaurant, it feels more like having dinner at your friends place than a restaurant. It’s intimate but not crowded, opulent but not pretentious. A little gem in the infamous neighborhood of Raval, it makes for a great place for a first date. Pro tip: Try the Asian Style chicken, served with sweet and sour roots salad, peanuts and wasabi seasoning. Yum!

BarCeloneta

No, we don’t mean the beach (though having a picnic there is a great idea!), BarCeloneta is a Sangria bar / Vegetarian and Vegan restaurant. So what makes this place so special? Apart from having some of the best burgers, you will ever have, it is conspicuously located in the heart of Barceloneta. You might walk right past it if you’re not looking carefully, always busy but never crowded, it is a hidden treasure in the overpacked neighborhood. On Thursdays, they serve vegan paellas, but you can enjoy their delicious tempeh or seitan burgers any day of the week (except Tuesdays when they close). And of course you have to try their sangria. Choose from 8 different kinds, including alcohol free, and you will see why veganism is more than just a fad.

This is a very small list of all the places we love to eat, but you’ll discover endless more throughout your stay in the city. Barcelona Segway Tour also offers a Gastronomic Segway Tour in which we take you to some of our favourite tapas restaurants in the city, but you’ll have to join us to find out which are our top picks 😉

See the city and taste the many flavours of Barcelona!

Crepes, the original French Breton recipe, have been welcomed all over Europe and conquered the hearts of many sweet lovers.

Barcelona, especially, has adopted these delicious wraps widely in its gastronomy – and we have picked the spots with the best crepes in Barcelona, where you can experience top-quality crepes.

Top places with the best crepes in Barcelona

The wafting smell of hot chocolate, nougat and vanilla is hard to resist. Our first recommendation is Creps Barcelona, which is specialised in wrapping these delicious dough-discs: whether integral or classic. You can order your crepe with salad, salmon, vegetables and nuts or rather opt for the sweet option with various sorts of chocolate, fruits, ice cream and flavours of coconut, honey or marmalade. Mmmmmm!

There are Creps Barcelona branches in the city centre and also in the beautiful chilled neighborhood of Gràcia – in one of the area’s most radiant streets: Carrer Verdi.

For a unique experience, another nice place with crepes is Creperié Bretonne Annaick in the Olympic harbor. It’s an authentic London double-decker bus, generously decorated with details of firemen’s equipment, bus doors for the restrooms and more bus engine parts. And still, the real highlights are the crepes.

Here you can get them in variations with salads, as crunchy or soft crepes, even in breakfast menus or for lunch and dinner – any taste any time would be their slogan.

Another place for delicious crepes is Belgious in the heart of the Gothic centre at Carrer Avinyó 50. It is a small place but can offer a huge and inventive range of crepes and also waffles. Ask for a crepe with Cannabis ice-cream for example. Does that pique your curiosity?

Crepe – a French recipe, adopted by Spanish kitchens, they’re definitely worth a try while you’re in Barcelona and won’t disappoint.
